"Performing in Sarasota at Home Resource was quite a blast for me. The folks who came out were a lot of fun to not only perform for, but I had a chance to do an extended Q & A after the show. This experience was new for me and provided me the chance to not only get to know my audience better but allowed me to share some of the science of hypnosis and how people can benefit from that understanding right away. I look forward to getting back to Sarasota to perform again." - Patrick McInnis, Comedy Hypnotist
"Through the power of hypnosis, Sarasota had their first visitor from Mars and the only person in the world that could translate Martian to English. Completely Hysterical. It is nice to see a comedic hypnotist that doesn't rely on "sex gags" for humor." - Michael Bush - Home Resource
"I was placed under hypnosis this past Friday night. I have to say that the experience was quite relaxing and enjoyable. Patrick McInnis , was a very good people person as well as hypnotist. I originally was not going to participate, but I felt so comfortable with him, that I did. It was fun! AND I'M NOT CLUCKING LIKE A CHICKEN!!!!! Am I? I would recommend seeing him anytime." Sincerely, Moe Moseman "More fun than a night full of monkeys - The hypnotist was elegant-on point-respectful and very accurate in coaxing the funny out of a very relaxed wise group of subjects who willingly let him do his magic-i've seen numerous shows of this type -Its so facinatining-and fun--ny- It is real. Check it out for yourself." Jaimie Bowes
McInnis' love affair with hypnosis...
...began as a teenager, when a hypnotist cured his father of his addiction to cigarettes. That initial demonstration fueled a lifetime passion. McInnis launched into years of study and ultimately trained under Geoffrey Ronning, a recognized leader in stage hypnosis education. Thanks to Ronning’s personal training sessions, McInnis became a certified stage hypnotist. But he’s never stopped refining his craft and putting it to work. In addition to delighting audiences around the country, McInnis is the author of seven self-hypnosis training guides. But the power of hypnosis to create laughter remains his first love.
What can audiences expect at the shows? As McInnis describes it, “It’s like an ultimate version of ‘America’s Got Talent.’ It’s a fun blend of audience interaction and a demonstration of the untapped power of the human mind—but always in the service of comedy. There are non-stop laughs from start to finish.” He adds that, during the course of the show, volunteers carry out hilarious suggestions to the delight of his audiences. Hidden abilities can also come unlocked. People who “can’t sing” discover they can—with the help of a gentle hypnotic suggestion.
“Hypnosis is powerful," says McInnis. "It can break bad habits and make an audience burst out laughing. It’s also totally safe. Despite what you see in the movies, a hypnotist can’t override your free will or make you do something you wouldn’t want to do. You’re always in control.”
The show's producer Christine Alexander adds that, “There’s a good reason Pat calls it a ‘Comedy Hypnosis Experience.’ It’s an amazing experience—like a dream vacation to any place and time you want. You can go back to ancient Rome, blast off into outer space, or win the lottery—and do it all in one night. You can be back home in time to walk your dog. If you’ve been telling yourself, ‘I’m so stressed out. I need a vacation,’ this is it!”
